Cideshow FAQ

Does Cideshow cost anything?

Cideshow is completely free! You can watch anything to your heart’s content for no money.

We do, however, sell tickets, which will allow you to have a fuller experience, cast your voice in decisions, win prizes, and even get exclusive invites.

Some shows take tickets for renewals. Most shows will also offer exclusive perks to those who donate.

Cideshow offers prizes to those who buy and spend tickets.

We have many options for purchasing these tickets, as well as ways to win them.

How do I start watching?

Just enter and watch. No registration required.

How do I buy tickets, and what are the advantages for doing so?

Tickets will give you these exclusive benefits:

-You get a say within shows, including the ability to renew them.

-Access to special bonus content.

-Invites to exclusive events like parties, writer room sit-in’s, live show Q&A’s, behind the scenes events, and a lot more.

How do I submit a series/idea?

We are looking for series that are doing something different. Your series is probably a good fit if it could be described as weird, trippy, dark, unique, experimental, and/or interactive.

If you have a fully-created series or pilot that you think would be a good fit, please email shows@cideshow.com, and let us know that you have an already recorded series that you want to become part of the network. We have a constantly growing user base that will get lots of eyes on your series, and this is a great way to test series out, as Cideshow is both a streaming service and a crowdfunding platform.

How do I submit a movie/idea?

We are also looking for movies that are doing something different. Your movie is probably a good fit if it could be described as weird, trippy, dark, unique, experimental, and/or interactive.

If you have a finished movie that you think would be a good fit, please email shows@cideshow.com, and let us know.

We are not accepting movie pitches or scripts. You must have a fully made movie. However, if you have a very low-budget movie and you want to make a higher-budget remake, you can use Cideshow’s platform to do so, as Cideshow is part crowdfunding.

How do I cancel a reoccurring ticket order?

On the dropdown menu beneath your username, select “My Plans.”

You will find a button there that says “Cancel Subscription.”

How is Cideshow different from other streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc)?

For creators, Cideshow works as a crowdfunding service as well as a streaming service.

For viewers, it’s a full, interactive, gamified experience.

All other streaming services are very passive. They have a list of shows, and much like regular television, the only thing you do there is WATCH the show.

Cideshow is far more active. Here you are the PRODUCER. You can do the following:

-Renew series that you want to see picked up for more episodes.

-See potential ideas for series, and have the ones you like the most made

-Make decisions within certain series

-Attend events like cast parties and even writer room sit-ins

-Participate in certain series

-Participate on our game shows (anyone can be a contestant)

-Be part of certain Cideshow executive decisions

-A lot more

For creators, Cideshow is a way to gain a fanbase and to test ideas. Cideshow is both a streaming service and a crowdfunding platform, so as a creator, you can make an ambitious idea with a very low budget, and gain support to make a higher-budget version of your series or movie.

How do I donate the tickets?

For all subscriptions, you receive a certain amount of tickets when your subscription begins and each time it renews.

Voyeurs and subscribers can both buy additional tickets from the “Ticket Booth.”

Tickets can be spent on specific series (to keep it running, to make decisions within it, to attend special events). All of these things will be announced on the series’ show page. Click “Enter Tent” to access a series’ show page

Shows that are up for renewal will have a status bar indicating how many tickets they need to receive funding for additional episodes.

When using tickets to vote, every ticket you give, counts as an additional vote. For instance, suppose a show has “popcorn” and “corn dogs” as voting options. If you pick “popcorn” and are donating 2 tickets, “popcorn” receives 2 votes, while if someone else picks “corn dogs” and donates 7 tickets, “corn dogs” receives 7 votes.

How do I know how many tickets I have left?

Click on “Ticket Booth.” It will tell you how many tickets you have.

How can I buy more tickets?

Click on “Ticket Booth,” then click on “Purchase Additional Tickets.”

On the popup you can buy as many tickets as you wish.

Can I still donate to a show that has a 100% fulfilled status bar?

Yes. As long as the show is still accepting tickets, you can still give them tickets and participate in any rewards or voting that is offered.

How do I participate on a game show?

Go to the game show’s home page, and it will announce how to participate. Most of them currently just require a few tickets to play.

See more information on it here.
