Here is a list of show examples for Cideshow in Place. These are not actual shows that are appearing in the campaign.

Use this as inspiration, or feel free to take any of these ideas if you’re looking for one to do.

Example #1

Name: Stuffed Animal Theater

Genre: Dramedy

Description: A different famous play is recreated each week, using stuffed animals as stand-ins. Creator does the voices or gets actors to record them.

Interactive Element: Viewers vote each week what play should be done in the next episode, choosing between three options.

Example #2

Name: Scavenger Hunt

Genre: Game Show

Description: Host conducts a scavenger hunt through Zoom. Participants have to find strange objects in their own home (ie. a shirt with a hole in it or a picture of them in a Halloween costume) to earn points. Winner gets to split show’s profits with the host and come back next week.

Interactive Element: Along with the winner, viewers can select one other participant to come back.

Example #3

Name: Nine O’Clock News

Genre: Comedy

Description: A fake news show all about the mundane things happening in the shelter in place world. There’s an anchor as well as field reporters, reporting on things like “there’s a raccoon in my backyard,” and “my neighbor has run out of toothpaste.”

Interactive Element: Viewers pick which color tie the anchor wears in the next episode.

Name: High Concept

Genre: Experimental

Description: Extremely smart people get really high and give their theories to unknowable concepts like “what’s outside of the universe?” or “how would time travel work if it was real?”

Interactive Element: Viewers pick what is discussed the following week.

Example #5

Name: Pilot

Genre: Other: Mixed genre

Description: A screenwriter who has written a pilot, gets actors to act out the roles in their own homes, complete with the best props/ sets they can recreate there.

Interactive Element: Viewers pick which pilot is made next between four different names/ short descriptions.

Name: Zoom Speed Dating

Genre: Reality

Description: Eight participants have two minute zoom speed dates with each other. A host keeps it together.

Interactive Element: Viewers pick their favorite match, and those two get each other’s contact info.

Name: Gallery View

Genre: Horror

Description: A supernatural killer is killing everyone in a shelter in place town. Six friends have a Zoom call with each other to help ensure their safety. But this might not be enough to save them.

Interactive Element: Viewers vote between the remaining characters who should die next week.

Name: Urban Dictionary

Genre: Doc Series

Description: Documentary investigates the origins of a different Urban Dictionary entry each episode.

Interactive Element: Viewers decide between several entries for the following episode.

Example #9

Name: Pet Story

Genre: Comedy

Description: Someone with a bunch of pets videos them. Comedy actors then do voice-overs for the pets, creating a narrative.

Interactive Element: Viewers pick the genre for the next episode (ie. cop show, The Bachelor type competition).

Name: Art in Place

Genre: Reality

Description: A show where artists reveal cool art projects they’ve created in their own homes while being quarantined.

Interactive Element: Viewers vote for the winner. Show profits are split between winner and the producer.
